Welcome to Our Puppy Blog!

Welcome to our blog! I am a small hobby breeder of Schnoodle puppies. My Schnoodles are a cross of the White Schnauzer with a Red Poodle. These dogs do not shed, are great for allergy sufferers, are friendly and easily trained.

We have 4 breeding females and sell our puppies face to face as required by APHIS rules for hobby breeders.

Our breeding dogs are from purebred Akc lines and the Schnoodle puppies are registered with ICA (the registry for Designer breed dogs.)

They will be vet checked, have their first set of shots, and they have been using a Ugodog Potty tray from 4 to 8 weeks. But this is just the beginning! Read through our posts to see the special care and attention we give our litter. You will enjoy watching our Growing Puppies!

We sell our puppies through our Waiting list. To reserve your spot on the Waiting List requires a $250 deposit. If you have any questions please email me at GrowingPuppies@gmail.com

Countdown to Whelping

Dixie prefers the coolness of the kitchen floor these last few weeks.
This is the last week before Dixie's due date!  It is a vigilant and exciting time.  We are keeping an eye on Dixie for signs that whelping is near.

June 25 is the expected date of whelping based on averages.   Whelping may take place from the 59th (June 20) to the 65th day (June 26).  If Dixie is late for whelping, then the latest date is day 70 (July1)  If we were to start approaching that day, I would  make a veterinary appointment to see what should be done.

So far all seems calm....though Dixie is looking a little restless, I haven't seen any of the typical signs of nesting yet.

Usually several days before a litter, Dixie will begin scratching the floor in the corners and behind chairs, as if she wants to dig a hole for some puppies.  In preparation, we have set up the baby pool in the corner of our dining room.   We filled it with old sheets and blankets so she can dig around and rip up sheets to her hearts content.   But again, so far, she is quiet.

This time around Dixie does not seem to be carrying as large as in past litters.  So I do not expect she will have as many puppies as last year.  But that is all I can say at this point.  I don't know how many puppies she will have....I can't even guess.   So we will wait and see.     We are hoping for a very healthy and smooth whelping!

    1. Thanks for your well wishes Linda! Its fun to connect with people in other countries. What a small world it is! Thanks for sharing the joy of our puppies. You have a wonderful summer too....Is it summer in Finland?

    2. Yes, it is summer in Finland now. We have summer from June to August. A normal temperature on a summer day here is app. 20°C. Today though, we have had a wonderful weather with 30°C. I love the heat, but for our schnoodle it is perhaps a little too hot and he stays rather in the shadow or inside.
We celebrated Midsummer last weekend when the sun shines all night through. We live quite close to the polar circle.

Still waiting for the new puppies! I keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well.

    3. Oh, your summers are normally quite cool! But today you do have a hot day. Just like us. It is 30 degrees C here today as well. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have the sun shining all night and day! Amazing! Well, Dixie is still hanging out waiting for the puppies. Maybe a walk will help move things along:)

  2. Dixie must be getting quite uncomfortable. I was hoping for an early delivery. So excited for the rival of her next litter!

    1. Yes, the last several days before delivery are the hardest. Imagine all those puppies kicking away inside! That is some kind of indigestions:) We are sooo ready for this litter! Thanks for watching with us, Karen!
