Welcome to Our Puppy Blog!

Welcome to our blog! I am a small hobby breeder of Schnoodle puppies. My Schnoodles are a cross of the White Schnauzer with a Red Poodle. These dogs do not shed, are great for allergy sufferers, are friendly and easily trained.

We have 4 breeding females and sell our puppies face to face as required by APHIS rules for hobby breeders.

Our breeding dogs are from purebred Akc lines and the Schnoodle puppies are registered with ICA (the registry for Designer breed dogs.)

They will be vet checked, have their first set of shots, and they have been using a Ugodog Potty tray from 4 to 8 weeks. But this is just the beginning! Read through our posts to see the special care and attention we give our litter. You will enjoy watching our Growing Puppies!

We sell our puppies through our Waiting list. To reserve your spot on the Waiting List requires a $250 deposit. If you have any questions please email me at GrowingPuppies@gmail.com

Dante is named Louie!

What a sweet puppy Louie (Dante) is!  Love him!
Mary,

Both Remy and Louie are adjusting well!   Also Louie has been awesome at potty training!  No accidents and goes on a dime in the yard.  Thank you so much for such awesome pets!!  You're the best!

Biscuit is named Liam

Here is our first update from Liam's new Mom after he arrived at his new home....

It was wonderful to see you and Vince again today!   And what a treat to meet Dante and his parents!   Our puppy is officially named Liam :)  We played outside in the dog park at Richmond airport for an hour after you left.  He would follow me and come to me, if I walked too far away.  I gave him some water (I brought an empty tupperware dish and a water bottle:)  and a half handful of kibble because he had lost his breakfast earlier.  He also peed once in the dog park.  Everyone we met fell in love with him and couldn't believe how cute and well behaved he was   Once in teh airport, I did have to check the UGODOG, because I had my purse, the

Blaze is named Pukah

Hi Mary,
I thought I would give you a little update on Pukah now that he's settling in. He was a little stressed out on the trip home and didn't sleep so we tried to keep things low key for the day. The big excitement was meeting the teenage cats; the are still trying to decide what to do with him. The first night he fussed in his crate quite a bit but he's starting to figure out the schedule (we're keeping a pretty strict one, it's even printed out and taped above his pen) and the past two nights he slept through to 6:30 which is still too early for mom but it's hard to complain.
We've discovered that the key to a stress-free puppy who is spending the majority of his day crated is to run him ragged at his 10:00 and 5:00 outings. He's having a good time playing chase and fetch out in the yard and once he's good and worn out he is now settling right in to the crate for a nap. The only problem is that I need one too!
I'll keep you posted on his progress, we'll be starting puppy class in two weeks so that should be fun.
Julie

Thank you Julie, for your lovely letter!   I sure enjoyed hearing all your news!   ---Mary

Puppies going home!

Over the last several days I have been sending puppies to their forever home.  Biscuit, Dante, Lucky and Blaze have all gone to their homes.   As of today I have two puppies, Cheetos and Charlie, still here.   I took photos of our puppies who were leaving with their people....but I am having some trouble transferring those photos to this computer.   I will get them up at some point, though.

In the mean time, please enjoy the updates and photos that our new families have sent to me!

Puppies visit the Veterinary

Monday I took the puppies to get a health check and vaccines at White Oak Animal Hospital.  I have to admit, I absolutely love taking the puppies to the vet, because its one of the few opportunities to take them out in public and show them off.   Talk about puppy magnets!

Everyone, staff and customers alike come running over to see the beautiful Apricot litter.  And how they fuss over these puppies!   They never can tell what they are....some think they are Labradoodles....but when I tell them they are Schnoodles, they are still confused.  I have to explain, "White Schnauzer + Red Poodle= Apricot Schnoodle"   And the look in their eyes tells me that the fact that they are a mix of breeds makes them more exotic still.

The puppy enthusiasts have all kinds of questions.   One lady seems immediately convinced that this is the breed for her.  So I give her my blog address.   Why don't I ever think to bring my business card?   Oh well, no problem.  It's just fun to be the center of everyone's enthusiasm!

6 week Schnoodle puppy weights

Hi all!  Here are the 6 week Schnoodle puppy weights.  The best guess for adult weight is to compare to past litters.  The past puppies have ranged from 13- 23lbs as adults.    Blaze and Lucky are currently charting smallest and may weight from 12-14lbs.   And Cheetos and Dante are weighing heaviest and may weigh from 20-23lbs.   These are rough predictions.  And puppies do not always grow according to the charts!

Blaze   3 lb 11 oz

Lucky   3 lb 11 oz

Biscuit  4 lb 3 oz

Charlie  4 lb  7 oz

Cheetos  4 10 oz

Dante  4 lb  13 oz

Remy's family picking out their second Schnoodle!

Remy the therapy dog, from our 2011 litter will soon have a new brother puppy!   His family came to pick their puppy yesterday.  It was great to see them again and to hear news about Remy and how much they love him!  They have provided such a loving home for Remy, I am thrilled that they will be bring home another one of our puppies!

Visiting from New York to pick a puppy!

Last year Maya was adopted by a young couple from McLean, Virginia.   This year the couples sister, came down from New York to pick her puppy.  Her Mom, who I had the pleasure to meet last year, was able to come for a visit again.  Wonderful to meet family of past puppy customers and also see a familiar face!

So when this lovely lady from New York brings her Schnoodle to meet Maya, they will be both cousins...and half siblings!

It was fun to hear all about Maya from her 'aunt' and 'Grandma' who had just spent the week with her at the beach.   Maya was apparently the most popular dog on the beach!  She loved the water and by the end of the week, all the beach goers knew her by name.  Well, it was great to hear that Maya is loved...and doing so well.  And so exciting to think that she will be able to meet her new brother/cousin soon!
Now Grandma gets to help pick a second Grand puppy!

First time outside!

Cheetos
These last few days I've noticed a real change in the puppies.  They sometimes bark or whine when we walk by....they want us to come pet them!  They are also playing much more aggressively with one another.  Sometimes they growl and zip around their pen.   It is so cute....But the energy is still short lived.  Within a few minutes of puppy mayhem, they crash once more and fall back into puppy slumber.

Yesterday we took three of  the puppies outside for the first time.  Charlie, Cheetos and Dante were wide awake when we were ready to go out.  So they were the lucky ones.   We will take the others on another day.

The fresh air and new smells seem to energize them.   Now is the beginning of a new stage of fun!   Taking puppies outside to play is always an enjoyable activity for us.
