3 Week old Tiny Toy Schnoodle update

Frosty watches me set up the puppy pen.

On Saturday Coco's puppies turned 3 weeks old!   Right on cue they started getting out of the Baby Pool.  I thought since they were so tiny they would take longer to do that then the Miniature Schnoodles.  But not no so.  Even though they are tinier than the Mini Schnoodle puppies at this same age, they seem to be just as agile. Somehow by stretching their little bodies up tall and digging their little claws into the pool cover, they can pull themselves over the edge.  So here we have it.  Time to move the litter to the Puppy Pen!








The puppy pen consists of 4 panels that are 36" long on each side.  I keep one corner open and attach a blue plastic box to the sides.  This gives a corner where Coco can easily jump in....but the puppies cannot get out.  Coco can nurse the litter whenever she wants, and I do not have to be a door lady!

The puppies at this point are much more mobile.  They are sturdy on their feet but still slow in their movement.  They will get up and walk over to the edge of the pen when they see Coco nearby. They yip and whine when they want to eat.  Generally they like to stay close to one another and show signs of early play....even growling in their tiny puppy way as they attempt to be impressive.  They are still such babies...but definitely puppies through and through!

Yesterday I started the litter on solid food.   Just a tiny bit of mush right now.  They were getting really noisy,and Coco was not anxious to answer the call...so I figured it would be good to start them on real food.  They seemed to enjoy it!.

I also discovered that the puppies needed a bit of fur trimming today.  Their fur is super soft and thick and will grow right into the corners of their eyes if not managed.  So I took my little trimmers out and snipped a little bit near their eyes.  I think they will appreciate that!
